Why Piedmont?
We created Enjoy Piedmont-Italy Travel to allow everyone to experience one of the most beautiful regions in the world: Piedmont (Piemonte in Italian) in the north of Italy. Here at Enjoy Piedmont our aim is to provide you with the very best Piedmont experiences that the region has to offer to make your visit here really special.
Piedmont has a stunning collection of royal palaces, museums and mansions as well as the classic Italian scenery of rolling hills and valleys dotted with vineyards and beautiful, pristine lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The regional capital, Turin, is a refined city filled with large, tree-lined boulevards, grand public squares and elegant cafes.
The region also produces some of the top wines in the world (Barolo, Barbera, etc.) and is the birthplace of the slow food movement, so you can’t go wrong with finding something fantastic to eat or drink. In fact, the wine-producing landscapes of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato areas (Piedmont’s world-renowned crown jewels) were designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2014.
Another advantage of Piedmont for the overseas tourist is that it is cheaper and less crowded when compared to Tuscany, a popular spot for Americans and Brits. If you want an authentic Italian experience, Piedmont is the place to visit. It has a lot of charm, the people are warm and welcoming, there is plenty of diversity in things to see and do, and it is a lot easier to experience it like a local.
Finally, don’t just take our word for it to enjoy Piedmont. Lonely Planet placed Piedmont at the top of their 2019 Best of Travel list for regions to visit.
The beauty of Piedmont is its diversity, so whether you’re exploring its baroque palaces, vineyards or lakes you’ll find a reason to love it.
